How to Read the Alibarbar LED (When Is It Finished?)

Written by Jason SmithReviewed by Alibarbar Team

What the Alibarbar LED is for

Remaining battery and remaining e-liquid are visible in one look, because a smart LED is built into the Alibarbar Ingot 9000. That visibility is the main edge over plenty of high-puff sticks that give you no window and then stop with no warning.

After the first few draws on a device you have just opened, look at the screen, and look again when taste or vapour begins to shift. The display is there so you can plan. It is not something to ignore until the stick fails.

How to read battery vs e-liquid

Treat the two indicators separately:

  • Some charge still on the battery does not change it: e-liquid empty → finished for any practical use
  • When the battery reads empty and vapour is falling away, replace the device.
  • Healthy readings and normal vapour mean keep going, and line up a spare before you are out all day.

You can tell it is finished without watching the screen the whole time. The signs:

End of life does not always arrive as a neat empty icon. Signals you will actually see:

  • Light flash with little or no vapour
  • A harsh taste, or a burnt one, that a few gentle puffs do not clear.
  • Vapour that is suddenly thinner than it was earlier in that device’s life.
  • Flavour can fall away even after the device has been kept upright and cool.

What not to do

Do not crack the case, do not jury-rig a charger, and ignore clips that show a disposable wired for an extra charge. Recharging is not possible on the Ingot 9000. At the end of its life, put a new one in service and hand the old one to an e-waste point or a battery drop-off where you can.

You cannot. That is the short version. The full answer sits in our guide on how to recharge an Alibarbar.

Plan replacements like a daily driver

Heading into a commute or a weekend while the LED is already flagging low e-liquid or a fading battery? Put the next flavour on order before you run out. A custom pack keeps you stocked so you are not picking one SKU at a time.

What the LED shows still beats a guess from the calendar. See also how long an Ingot 9000 tends to last, for context on real use.

Frequently asked questions

What the LED on an Alibarbar is telling you

The smart LED on an Ingot 9000 is there to show battery left and e-liquid left, so a replacement can be lined up before the stick dies.

When should you treat an Alibarbar as finished?

Time to replace: the e-liquid has run out, or the battery has and vapour falls away. The same usually follows a burnt taste, or a flash when nothing comes out.

Flashing on your Alibarbar — what now?

A flash, with hardly any vapour or none at all, usually means life is over for that device. Stop pulling on it, fit a fresh unit, and recycle the spent one with care. Recharging is not something to attempt.

The battery LED is low. Can the device be recharged?

No. There is no charge cycle to run. A low battery on the Alibarbar Ingot 9000 means plan a replacement, because it cannot be recharged.
